Samantha Drennan of Alexandria, VA, honored for academics and leadership

Samantha Drennan of Alexandria, VA, a senior scholar at The Lutheran Samantha Drennan and Dean Paul RajashekarTheological Seminary at Philadelphia (LTSP), has earned the seminary’s Traci L. Maul Award recognizing her potential for ministry, active contributions to seminary community life and academic strength.

Drennan, who is affiliated with the Metropolitan DC Synod of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA), is a member of Faith Lutheran Church in Arlington where the Rev. Brian L. Erickson is pastor. She is the daughter of Robert Drennan of Emmaus, PA and the late Donna Drennan. Robert Drennan is a member of St. John Lutheran Church in Emmaus, where the Rev. Wayne A. Matthias-Long is pastor.

Samantha Drennan graduated in 1987 from The College of William and Mary, where she received a B.A. in Business. Prior to attending seminary she was Manager of Information Technology for MultiState Associates, Alexandria VA.

Upon graduating in the Spring of 2011, Drennan anticipates serving as a parish pastor.

Her family includes a brother, Rob, sister-in-law, Karin and nephew, Justin, who is her godson.

The Maul Award honors the memory of seminary alumna the late Traci Maul, who exhibited in her life the qualities of the award.
