Urban Theological Institute Certificate Program in Church Leadership
The Urban Theological Institute (UTI) of The Lutheran Theological Seminary at Philadelphia (LTSP) is dedicated to providing theological education to church leaders that is relevant and up-building for the African American community.
The Certificate Program in Church Leadership is designed to offer seminars to clergy and church leaders that will equip them to administer church programs and enhance their skills in pastoral leadership.
The program consists of four seminars over two academic years. Participants who complete the full two-year (four seminar) program will receive a certificate in church leadership. Entrance into the program can start in fall or spring. (download a pdf version of the brochure)

Church Administration - church financial management and program development
Spring
Pastoral Care - lay/clergy relations, ministerial and sexual ethics, clergy self care
YEAR 2
Fall
Teaching and Learning in the Church - development of educational ministries, curriculum development, teacher training
Spring
Conflict in the Church - conflict management and resolution in the church
Schedule and fees
The seminars are held on the campus of The Lutheran Theological Seminary at Philadelphia. Each seminar meets 2-3 hours, once a week, on Saturday morning.
The fee per seminar is $300 plus the cost of textbooks. Seminars for the Fall semester begin in September, and for the Spring semester begin in February.
