Certificate in Church Leadership
The Certificate Program in Church Leadership prepares clergy and lay leaders to administer church programs, and to lead faithfully and effectively in today’s challenging contexts. The Certificate Program in Church Leadership is a ministry of the Urban Theological Institute (UTI) of The Lutheran Theological Seminary at Philadelphia (LTSP). UTI, founded in 1980, has prepared pastors, educators, and outreach ministers from various denominations and continues to provide theological education that is relevant and up-building for the African American community.
The program consists of four seminars over two academic years: Church Ministries and Servant Leadership, Pastoral Care and Servant Formation, Teaching and Learning in the Church, and Managing Conflict in the Church. Each seminar meets three hours on Saturday mornings during the fall and spring semesters. The fee per seminar is $300 plus the cost of textbooks. Participants who complete all four courses receive the Certificate in Church Leadership. Students may enter the program in either the fall or spring semester.
The word “Resolving” needs to be changed to “Managing.” This is the only change on this page.
