Class Notes: November 2014

Pr. Karen Sease

The Rev. Karen M. Sease, MDiv 2014, Pastor of Grace Lutheran Church, Pottstown, PA

On October 20th, I started my first call as pastor of Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church in Pottstown.

The Rev. Dr. H. Paul Santmire, BD 1960, retired

H. Paul Santmire’s latest book, Before Nature: A Christian Spirituality (Minneapolis: Fortress, 2014) has been favorably reviewed online in the Journal of Lutheran Ethics (14:9 [Oct. 2014]) by the journal’s book review editor, Prof. James Childs of Trinity Seminary (ret.). Santmire also recently spoke, via Skype, to an LTSP theology class, taught by Prof. John Hoffmeyer, about a chapter in Santmire’s earlier study, Ritualizing Nature: Renewing Christian Liturgy in a Time of Crisis (Minneapolis: Fortress, 2008).

The Rev. Barry Benson, MDiv 1973, retired

I retired last July, and Sue and I are living in Manahawkin, NJ, at the Jersey shore. We are keeping busy with five young grandchildren, including 3 year old granddaughter Emily and her 9 month old brother Bryan. Our other daughter has 10 month old triplets, Gavin, Noah, and Mason. It keeps life exciting.
