Pamela Peterson of Wallingford, CT, awarded LeRoy Aden Scholarship in Pastoral Care

Dean Rajashekar and Pam PetersonPamela Peterson, a native of Mayville, NY who resides in Wallingford, CT, has been awarded the Dr. LeRoy Aden Scholarship in Pastoral Care at The Lutheran Theological Seminary at Philadelphia (LTSP) on April 28, 2011 by Dean J. Paul Rajashekar. She is a candidate for ordination studying for a Master of Divinity degree.

Recommended and approved by the seminary faculty, Peterson was chosen for the award in recognition of her outstanding potential in the area of pastoral care, the specialization of long-time faculty member Dr. LeRoy Aden, a professor emeritus at LTSP.

Peterson, a senior seminarian graduating this spring, is preparing for ordination in the United Church of Christ and after seminary commencement this summer will begin a year-long field work assignment in clinical pastoral education residency at Hartford (CT) Hospital.

Peterson graduated from Mayville (NY) Central School in 1979. She received her B.S. in Business Administration in 2005 from Empire State College, the State University of New York. Professionally, prior to entering seminary, Peterson served as Administrative Coordinator for the Achievement Center in Jamestown, NY. She also worked as Parent Educator for Even Start in Chautauqua County, NY.

In her hometown of Mayville, Peterson was a member of St. Mark Lutheran Church. Currently, she belongs to South Congregational Church (UCC) in Middletown, CT, where the Rev. Marybeth Marshall serves as pastor.

Peterson is the daughter of William and Janice Camp of Stockton, NY, and the late Warren E. Peterson. She is the mother of Kevin Kelly of Vail, CO, and Kyle Kelly of Wallingford, CT.
