Degree Program: Master of Divinity (MDiv)
The MASTER of DIVINITY PROGRAM (MDiv) at The Lutheran Theological Seminary at Philadelphia (LTSP) prepares leaders from 30 denominations for a wide range of pastoral ministries in the Christian church. Students in the MDiv program participate in a 150-year tradition of outstanding theological education marked by academic excellence, spiritual formation, and ministry experience. With a world- renown faculty and a curricular emphasis in Public Theology, LTSP prepares ministry candidates for service in challenging, multi-cultural, pluralistic contexts. Coursework includes Bible, theology, history, ethics, and practical ministry courses such as preaching, teaching, pastoral care, administration, evangelism, stewardship, and worship. Optional concentrations are available in Multicultural Mission, Latino, Metropolitan/ Urban, and Black Church (Urban Theological Institute) ministry. Short and long-term study abroad programs are available. LTSP offers full-time, part-time, day, night, Saturday, intensive, and distance-learning courses, making excellent theological education accessible to a wide range of students. Admission is on a rolling basis. Need and merit based financial aid is available.
