About this year's Forum:

Continuing the Muhlenberg 300 celebration, LTSP’s Fall Forum will be presented by Professor J. Jayakiran Sebastian. Dr. Sebastian looks back on the year 1706 and the arrival of the first Protestant missionary to India, Bartholomaeus Ziegenbalg, and the connection to Henry Melchior Muhlenberg, the patriarch of American Lutheranism. Both were sent out as missionaries from the mission center in Halle, Germany, and Muhlenberg had an initial desire to serve as a missionary to India.

Morning session:  We will revisit the life and times of Ziegenbalg, assess his contribution, and also touch upon connections and interconnections with the subsequent work of Muhlenberg and beyond.

Afternoon session:  Issues and themes that impact on missiological thinking and praxis today will be addressed as we face the ongoing challenges of multicultural identity, economic disparity, and religious diversity.

Schedule includes Chapel and free time!

The Fall Forum is open to all clergy and laity in your local communities. Please share this information with your colleagues!
