God’s Church worshipping on LTSP campus
On December 11, the congregation of God’s Church began worshipping in The Lutheran Theological Seminary at Philadelphia’s (LTSP) Schaeffer-Ashmead Chapel. The congregation worships every Sunday morning at 8:30 am, and every Thursday evening holds Bible Study from 6:00-7:00 pm. Its pastor, the Rev. Robert Jay Adams, invites all to join them as “Together, we will discover the treasures within God’s Word.”
After worshipping in a space with “no heat for two years,” Pr. Adams happened to be talking to a member of the LTSP community involved with a youth group at LTSP who suggested he meet with someone from the seminary about the possibility of using the Schaeffer-Ashmead Chapel as a worship space for his congregation. A meeting quickly ensued between Rev. Adams, LTSP President David Lose, Dean Kiran Sebastian, and John Heidgerd, LTSP CFO, and a mutually beneficial collaboration was born! John Heidgerd was delighted at the outcome of the meeting — “We have this beautiful sanctuary on our campus that we want to open up to the community, and this was the perfect situation that came at the right time.” “The Spirit of God was upon the meetings!” recalls Adams.
It is the mission of God’s Church to enlighten men and women by seeking out the wealth within God’s word, and to rejuvenate the weary Saints, equipping them to live by and defend the faith: spreading the saving grace of Jesus to the lost.
Pr. Adams wants to invite all to worship!
