On Sunday, December 4, the seminary and wider community marked the season with the annual Advent Vespers. Under the theme “Come! Bring Healing, Bring Peace,” the Service of Evening Prayer provided a time for prayer, reflection, and silence – things that are a gift from God in our fevered world.

Tangled Blue

Tangled Blue – Songs and Stories for the Seminary Community

Tangled Blue is the music of Aimée and Joel Pakan – a married couple from the ELCA’s Minneapolis Area Synod and the seminary community’s first ever Composers-in-Residence. Aimée and Joel moved to LTSP to study in the MDiv program this fall, and also lead chapel music at LTSP, even as they continue a performance schedule that’s taken them to Nebraska, New York, North Dakota, and Texas over weekends this fall and back to LTSP for weekday classes.

A local congregation, God’s Church, began worshipping in LTSP’s Schaeffer-Ashmead Chapel in early December. It has been some time since the chapel hosted Sunday worship as members of the student body spend Sundays serving at – and learning from – congregations throughout the region.
