Annual fundraiser benefits Awbury Arboretum, East Mt. Airy Neighbors (EMAN), and The Lutheran Theological Seminary at Philadelphia (LTSP)

People’s Choice: Karyn Wiseman

Best Chef Laura Siena
Philadelphia Seminary’s (LTSP) the Rev. Dr. Karyn Wiseman for the second year in a row proved to be the “People’s Choice” with her recipe for Coca Cola Beef BarBQ Brisket for the Fourth Annual Cookin’ with Who? fundraiser. She was joined in the awards by Mt. Airy community activist Laura Morris Siena, whose vote getting and fundraising skills led to her being awarded the “Mt. Airy Platinum Spatula” as Best Chef at the November 6 event, held in Benbow Hall of LTSP’s Brossman Center.
The event drew about 100 community residents for fellowship and to taste the recipes presented by the competing community “celebrity chefs.” Leading up to the event, the chefs used emails, personal connections, and “campaign videos” to encourage their friends and colleagues to “vote early and often.” This year’s competitors:
